i am looking to upgrade my steering wheel in the near future and have wondered will there be any modification needed to change the steering wheel at all, will i be able to buy and fit it myself or am i better off taking it to be a garage to be done

also i wasnt sure about the section but if i have posted in the wrong section could a mod move it and pm me to where it has been moved
    Thanks in advance

If your literally just talking standard E46 wheel to m sport E46 wheel I'm fairly certain it's a straight swap.

The m sport wheel was an optional extra on all E46s so wouldn't have been that hard to change over last minute before a car was sold!

Are your changing from the 3 spoke triangle unit? as they are a single stage airbag, where as the later M-sport ones are dual stage. I managed to find some 'How too's', but have still not got round to changing mine.

I think it's something as simple as only connecting the blue wire...
If it aint broke, don't fix it!!!
