I saw a Silver 3 series long time ago with tints, thought it looked awesome, really stood out.

I've now got a silver 318ci myself, and all my friends ask me what you going to do next and before i have a chance to answer they all say put on some tints!
Im thinking of only getting the rear windows done and leaving the front half alone.

What percentage tints did you get done Hassan? BTW, I think it looks ace mate.

I can feel your hatred for tints all the way from here LOL!

    Thanks for the compliment mate

My mate is based in Leicester and does not travel out unless there are a few people interested in getting them done at the same time. He charges approximately £100 for an E46 coupe. He charged me £60 because he knows me.

If you are willing to travel to Leicester to get them done then let me know, I'll try sort something out for you.

I'm not 100% sure about the exact percentage if using the light transmission device, but he refers to them as 25%. I could find out the proper percentage if you want?

I think having all of the windows done makes it look more complete and 'factory'. If you leave the front windows, it may look more jap or boy race-rish. But then you may be able to pull it off! I haven't actually seen a BMW with rear tints and standard fronts to be fair.

Thank you for the compliment, appreciate it!

Your best to go down to a tinting place and get to see them put a tint against the window and see which you like best

I have tints on just my rears and have gone for 35% (which means they let 35% of light in ie limo tint would be 0%) check my project thread for pics

The price of £100 for a E46 coupe is still very good...

25% is dark. he must mean 75% is they are very light. thats means that the tints let in 75% of light, not the other way around. and btw the reason your tints look quite dark even though 75% tints are legal is because beemers already come tinted to around the max legal limit anyway and if you put on even the lightest shade available the car is past the legal limit for tinted front windows.
that being said, they look really nice on your car

Yep...compared to other prices I've seen people charge!

The quality of the work is unbelievable! But yeah...I wouldn't get mine done without seeing examples of anyone's work!

Yep...that's how they're supposed to me measured. This guy just names them in percentages (i.e. 25%, 50% etc) just for people who don't know much about tints to understand.

The actual tint film is VERY light, I was going to ask him to use a darker tint as I was thinking it would turn out too light, luckily I didn't! In the daytime it looks like the car has no tints at all. Only on a dull day/evening it looks darker. The black leather doesn't help either.

I have decided to sell my car by the way

The rear of my car is tinted, and the front standard.

Dunno what % it is, im guessing it is what ever 'just legal' is because it is pretty dark. They were on the car when i got it and they arent something i would go for because i find it very hard to see out properly, i sometimes put my rear windows down to get a better view. Parallel parking at night time is impossible because you cant see out. And i cant really make out cars behind me clearly in the rear view mirror when im driving, i can see the car, but would see finer details like a secord aerial of an unmarked cop car or read a number plate etc.

That is my opinion anyway, ive never actually taken them off and probably never will, but i dont think id ever get them, they are only there because its how i got the car and dont want to leave marks trying to them them off!

Given the option I would always go for no tints now. I had my silver e38 tinted too dark all round and it did look good with the 20" wires I had on it but it was dangerous and I pulled them all off after the second time of asking!!
I've now got factory tints on the back of my e65 and, although I didn't want them, decided to live with them because the car was just right except for them. Now, though, I kind of regret it because they're so annoying! I've come to the conclusion that my beautiful car looks stupid with just the back done, it's a pain in the bum reversing at night and worst of all, if I want to pose in traffic by putting up the electric blinds I can't because no-one can see them anyway!!
If there's any window fitters reading this near worcester that want to come and fit the back and quarters for me for a bacon sarnie and a warm handshake, and possibly a go on the wife, I'll get some clear ones from a scrappy!!
