I know a few of you were interested on how i got on retrofitting xenon projectors into my halogen headlights apologies for the long overdue response. Basically got them in and assembled end of october but have been since tweaking the postion of the projectors and the cut off shields to get a level beam pattern as one was tilting up and one was tilting down even though i fitted them flush to the top of the projector bowl. Yes it can be done but it is fiddly and is alot easier with the use of a beam setter. ALL in all this cost me £100 for the projectors and shrouds from America ( they are rhd), £46 for the 6k xenon kit and ig to sll the bolts and araldite i used from work but id guess you could add another £10 on of bought but still alot cheaper then 2nd hand bmw xenon headlights. Apologies there wasnt a DiY guide as the day i did initially fit them i had to rush off 5 hours later so didnt have to time to take loads of pics. If anyone else was thinking of trying fire me a pm and ill give you best advise i can from doing this myself.

    anyhow heres some finished pics

bit hard to see here becuase of the daylight off of my stone chipped lense but basicall i trimed the shround to fit over the projectors and into the reflector bowl and painted it satin black.

and a couple of cheeky pics of how the suspension settled after fitting Spax springs the other month

When its dark i will get a picture of the headlight beam but it is brilliant! flat and wide ,even with the motorway scarred headlight lenses

Hehe yeah. I used to have the depo xenons in the old 330ci sport with 8k bulbs. They look good aesthetically but compated to the fx-r projectors and 6k bulbs the light output and beam pattern on them was quite poor in comparison. So the Eibachs were not a good mod then?

One question ive been asking myself this week is do i fit some Angel leyes aswell? I do like the look of them but it seems everyone has ccfl angels in their e46's now. Are they a bit played out now?

Ah nice one Mark, how much do you want for them? If your lightsare similar to my old ones those angel eyes are a moulded part of the light.
