There are a lot more experts than me on here but my bit of info....
I've tried many products, nothing worked as well as megs compound, was recommended to me as BMW paintwork is very hard, nothing else seemed to touch it. The megs did the job, better than anything else i could find. If your paintwork needs a good re-fresh i used lime prime, a brilliant product, and after the lime prime i applied Do-Do juice.

The only way to really correct BMW paint is via a machine you might remove some very faint scratches by hand but in all honestly like Martyn has already said BMW paint is so tough you wont have much joy. And using harsh compounds by hand can end up doing more harm than good as you can end up marring the paint finish, compounds need to be worked in for sometime even with a rotary polisher to totally break down all the polish particles which is just not physically not possible by hand.
