    Hi All!

Have just got myself a 2002 318TI Compact in Silver and want to colour coordinate my current black plastic side strips, front strip and rear bumper strip, making them Silver. I can't seem to find a detailed guide as to how to remove the strips, and then paint them myself (I am happy using rattle can paint in exchange for increased ease of task!).

Has anyone had any experience removing these strips and/or painting them yourself? Any advice is much appreciated, thanks.

The strips are just clipped on mate, easily removed (carefully) with a thin flathead screwdriver (tape the end up to be sure you won't scratch the paint)..

Then it's just a case of de-texturising them, nice and quick if you've got a sander.. give them a wipe with IPA and a coat of plastic primer then spray and lacquer as normal!

Thanks for the input guys, will try and find a quiet weekend some time and do it. I have parking sensors in the rear bumper, is there anything specific i need to look out for when doing that one?
