so just wondered how bright angel eyes are compared to car bulbs? do you get the same distance of illumination / brightness etc? or is it a sacrify of these purely for looks alone?

They replace the sidelights, they are not for the main headlights. My guess would say that they would just give you as much light as sidelights, but mainly the reason why people get them is because they look amazing. I wish BMW did them as standard

Angel Eyes are not used for headlights, they are used as sidelights/daytime running lights. A decent CCFL or LED kit will be visible in daylight as well as dusk/night.

as above, you can get different 'K's (7000k, 8000k) i think this just indicates how strong the blue tint is but im not sure!!

Ive put some on my e36 328i, and they are great, even in daylight, they add something that the 328i were begging for IMO!!!

6000k is generally considered "Pure White", the higher you go after that = the more blue they look.

Anything lower will look more yellow!

will be worth it i reckon mate, i think compacts looks particularly nice with angel eyes because of the twin headlight arrangement
