Just fitted a new pair of tailgate struts, noticed after fitting the tailgate is not fush on one side, ie looks about 2mm high all the way down one side!
Done a water check and its leaking into the car.
Not sure if the gap was there before i fitted the new BMW struts!!
Please does any when know how to adjust the tailgate, tryed undoing the hinges but no movement really. marked around with a marker pen first.
    Help...... Terry

The struts are just there to keep the tailgate in position and should not effect the alignment

Have you checked the latch? Open the tailgate up very slightly and see if the sides look as though they even up. If so the latch/catch need adjusting. I usually do this by loosening of the bolts ever so slightly so that when the bonnet/tailgate closes it moves the catch across into a natural position. Then open and tighten the bolts up/)
