    Hi

Some of you may have read about me, attempting to refurbish some Mv1's. Ihave done 2 of the wheels and am more than happy with the finish. Problem is am having problems with the 3rd. The primer doesnt seem to be covering very well and I must have sand it and re-apply about 4/5 times.

Does anyone have any ideas why?

    Picture are below

    thanks

I know that mv1's are originally powder coated and when you have them refurbed properly they acid strip the wheels and repowder coat them but that shouldent really cause problems with your priming unless some water has got between the powder coating or something like that perhaps any way good luck and I hope u work it out

How did you clean the wheel? looks like there is something on the surface reacting to the primer, best to run it down and use some degreaser and white spirit, make sure its thouroughly dry and for added adhesion warm the metal up with a hairdryer.

Its only on the rim, I have sand it down to bare metal. And regarding cleaning just used water..maybe i didnt give it time to dry as i just wipe with kitchen towel. Going to sand it again tomorrow and try wiping with white spirit. Degreaser where can i get some from? A friend suggest wiping with petrol aswel, is that possible

    many thanks
