took the interior door handles off today. scrapped all the old paint as it was stripping away. old credit card and an alcohol pad did the job! out of interest what primer and paint did you use. worthwhile sticking to official BMW colours? really only want to black it out to be fair.

I used a Halfords plastic primer and Halfords Titanium Silver (same colour as my car) and it matches pretty well. They do various blacks as well (BMW ones).

Also figured at £5 a can, not too expenisve either if it needs redoing in a year.

Got through 1 and a bit cans of primer, and nearly 2 cans of silver (although I did sand back one bit a couple of times as it kept getting dust on it). Going to do the laquer tomorrow, but don't reckon I'll get through more than one can really.

They are all the smaller cans - they didn't have any of the big cans in what I was looking for.

Get some pics up when your done!

im in two minds whether to go silver like yours, really brightens the dash board. black throughout might be a bit claustrophobic. daaaam decisions. did you remove all the old pain before you sprayed onto it? i noticed when i peeled the handles back, they were not primed in any way. hence why it intially start peeling. bit shody by BMW i must say.

Yup, sat there and scrapped it all off, and then sanded the plastic to give it a key for the primer to stick to.
