Getting a full respray done on the car shortly and was wanted to know what the processes are and what kind of materials I should ask the garage to use. I dont want the garage using rubbish materials. Any advice would be appreciated.

I think it would be goverened by how much you are paying for the respray

same as plumhead..depends on how much you pay...mine cost £1600 and that was a mate...also an individual colour which uses 6 coats then a ceramic lacquer..but thers already a better lacquer out now,,,seemingly the ceramic had problems off its own tho im well happy with it..except for the humuongus stone chip on the nose!!...i would at least be kaming sure your cars going in an oven as i know some spraypainters say the paint nowadays is very hard and doesnt necessarily need baked...ask too see some off ther work too

Well if the body shop takes any pride in their work and your paying them good money there shouldn't be a problem. 2k paints is what they should use. I've used PPG lacquer on my own car and its very easy to use and gives a brilliant shine.

Are you going the same colour? and what kind of price have they quoted you?

and if you've got any rust let the body shop know so they can make sure its all ground out before the primer is applied

Then theres no chance of them missing it accidently

been quoted 900 pounds. Guys seem to be good, seen some of their jobs. No dust on the paintwork and a gleaming result.

    Some women ehh.

I guess your in the hands of the body shop. Sound like there will be a bit of filling etc on the scratches on the plus side they won't need to respray inside doors etc did the roof get scratched?
