Hi, I recently bought G Techniq P1 Nanocomposite Polish along with thier FP1 Tri Foam Polish Pad as I don't have a machine polisher and would be using it by hand.

The condition of my paint is pretty good considering the age and miles on the car (165k), it often gets waxed, however I felt lately it could do with a 'pick-me-up', so after some research I discovered G Techniq's products.

Photo of passenger door which was clayed using Meguires claybar, flash is on the camera to highlight the swirl marks on the paint:

This is the same panel after I used the P1 polish, this is directly afterwards so was before it was waxed, again flash is on to highlight the swirls removed/rremaining:

I'm very happy with the results considering it was done by hand, I thought about getting a machine polished however I don't think I'd get the use out of it. That is why I've uploaded these pictures to give someone an idea of the correction that can be achieved by hand polishing if they don't have a machine polisher.

This is the end result of my work, please just look at the paintwork as I spent so long doing it I didn't get to even wash the wheels or dress the trim!!

Nice work but man I bet your arms are gonna be aching

Blacks a hard colour to do right, looks like you found a good combo to use by hand instead of AG SRP. Any pics of the product and applicator?

    Thanks guys

The polish was £20.00 for the 500ml http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars...posite-polish/

And the applicator was £3.53 http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars...am-polish-pad/

I also bought the permanent trim restorer too http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars...trim-restorer/ which I haven't tried yet, but I'll do a before and after when I get that done too.

Shipping cost me £7.00 for that lot, but im in the republic of ireland, i think uk postage would be £3.90, but it depends on what you order/weight. Its was a pricey enough purchase, but most of the cost was on the trim restorer, but it looks like its worth it going by the reports on the forums, especially if it is permanent, it would certainly beat using Poorboys World Trim Restorer which would last as long as the first shower of rain, which was bad but the worst of it was the run marks it left down the side of the car as it washed off with the rain. I now use the Poorboys on the tyre sidewalls, it probably still runs but less noticable on the wheels compared to the black paint of the car.

Yeah, my arms were pretty tired after polishing alright, I clayed and de tarred it as well beforehand too so it was a almost a full two days work!

I also used 3M blue detailing tape as well, this slows things down and might not even be necessary when you are polishing by hand, but I though what the hell, might as well look like I know what I'm doing!!

The only problem I can see with it is some of the stone chips i had touched up have white marks on them, I thought at first the polish had lifted the paint however I not realise that it was the polish getting into the uneven paint and now i have wax over it too so on those areas [mostly bonnet] it doesnt look as well as it should, it should clay off though and be easy enough to sort. I put this down to my inexperience in using polish [often wax car but rarely polish] rather than the product itself.

Overall I would highly recommend this product for someone who doesnt have a polishing machine, or even if you have a machine I guess, although if you have a machine you probably have more options. In comparsion to other products I don't think its expensive, probably cheaper options but im sure there are more expensive ones too, I dont think it is much more than AG SRP or Poorboys World Black Hole for example. I bought the 500ml bottle and I used about 1/3 of the bottle, that was going over the paint work once. I suppose if an area was badly swirled then you may need to go over it again and you would use a little more.

Cheers, yeah the product is definitely a good one to go for if you want to freshen up your paint work without biting off more than you can chew, or going down the route of a big expense.

Just remember to buff it all off properly before you wax over everything like me

But you live and learn, and the reason I posted this was to help others going to use this product, I think I remember reading somewhere that using a very slight spray of water would help remove stubborn polish marks like the ones I got in the stone chips of my car.

nice work - you tend to notice patina the most on black cars.
