So I've had my 2001 e46 318ci for just over a day, and I'm already thinking about wheels! I think I have 16s at present. My question is what's the best size alloys to get? I'm thinking about 18inch csl replicas but I'm very interested in how the ride will differ etc? I wouldn't want any rubbing problems at all. Also I've seen loads of threads talking about staggered alloys, does this just mean wider at the back? Also as mine is not the sport model will I have to get it lowered to be looking good? If anyone can give me any photoshop examples that would be great. My car is topaz blue.

    Thanks

    hey mate,

well for alloys its totally a matter of personal opinion as i would say you want 19" alloys as they look more agressive and wont be that much worse than 18" one, csls are common though so if your aim is to be different its worth looking at other types of alloys, as for the staggered fitment yes this means wider rears and the normal staggered fitment is 8.5 at the front and 9.5 at the rear for an e46, as for lowering it, again it depends on what you feel you need to do, but in most cases yes you do lower the car to give it a more agressive stance.

as for PS images we will need a side view of your car to do that and some wheels that you want us to use and ill be more than happy to do that for you

I have csl reps...and they are staggered.

19" will fit no problem as long as they are the correct offset.

Im not sure of exactly what offsets you can get away with, but im sure someone will post the correct ones, they are stamped in your wheels.

These will fit with no rubbing
