after seeing quarry motors breaking a compact the same as mine with the m-tech aerodynamic kit on ive decided thats now the main thing i want to do to my car!

i dont like the original bumpers/skirts since seeing the other option!

unfortunately looks like quarry will be selling the one off there compact on friday (if not this thread is irrelevant because i'll be buying that!)

ive got prices new and primed from bmminiparts.co.uk, but then when you add spraying its getting a bit steep!!

any ideas of any other breakers where i can possibly request these parts??

    Guess not then!

My advice would be to keep in touch with Quarry Motors as their stock is constantly changing...

You could try working your way through this list...

bader's - do you know if QM split the kit? I'd like to change the side skirts on mine to the sport one, but am not too fussed about the bumpers as a) I don't mind them b) tracking down second hand rear bumpers of any sort for a 325ti is a nightmare (I need one because some old fart clipped the back and has broken the one of the mounting clips so it doesn't sit as it should and I have a small square cut out from when the car had a two bar fited) and c) there are loads of other more important jobs like lowering the car, powerflexing the bushes and getting the wheels refurbed.

    Cheers

problem is mate that the parts of the kit are so expensive to buy separately it makes more sense to buy the full kit and sell the parts you don't want!

I don't know what quarry do, when i was looking for a full kit they had a used kit in my colour but wanted ridiculous money for it so I bought mine from mstyle.co.uk

as far as the rear bumper goes can't you have it repaired?? i'd say look on ebay, all e46 compact rear bumpers are the same and theres normally a fair few going on ebay!

if its not repairable get something like this on the cheap and get it sprayed:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-E46-COMPAC...item2304af033c

i reckon you'd get that including delivery for £60 then £50-70 to spray it..

it looks in fairly bad condition, i'd be wary incase some of the scratches were deep of there are any chips.

well the guy does say in the listing that theres no physical damage to the bumper so you'd have to take a chance... or shell out for one in better condition.. generally people want too much for them though!

The bumper is slightly different for the 325 - the exit hole for the exhaust is wider to accomodate the twin pipes. The other models all have the same part number for the bumper, but its different for mine.

I was ideally hoping to be lazy and find a bumper in good nick, in silver becase I reckon it would work out cheaper than having the cut out fill and the whole thing repainted.

As for the M-tech kit, I figured that it would be silly money (and there are far more important jobs to do at the mo).

I think the M tech kit comes with a big enough cut out for twin exhaust, mine does an its on a 318, Ive filled it now though
