Don't forget the 'thanks button' at the bottom of my posts

Anyway - new wings are definately the way forward if yours are rusty, it's just wether you want (or can justify) the cost to go OEM. I've just had a look at the rear of the the ones they took off and it's all the way across where the arch liner meets (and rubs) the panel. Take a look-

You can see it's only a matter of time before it gets MUCH worse.

The aftermarket wings did need some work to get to fit mind - I'd say the car looks brand new at the front from a few feet, but if you look close at front corner of the panels it's not perfect - then again the cars 10yo and it look a darn sight better than with rusty wings. Far less embarrasing an experience! ;-)

Cheers, honestly cannot fault the paint, it just looks 'right' if you know what I mean - colour/depth/shine. Only compromise is as stated but OEM wings are toooo much unless your cars worth £££££ / nearly new. Cannot overstate the benefit of getting the grills and fins replaced too though, it looks new.

Overall expeience - I'd go back if I needed more work no problem..... It can be a bit more relaxed from a 'customer service' point of view but if you 'put in the effort' it's nice to chat direct with the mechanics/painter rather than a service manager.

Have you got a thread about your upcoming trip?

Looking fine . Can't beat a bit of alpina action. Bmw front wings are always £££££££'s on any model. I went after market on my E30 ones as new ones of them are over £200 a side now. The ones i got are a really good fit.

Good to hear overall it was a good experience, especially the finished product

Nah, not much point for my "2 a penny" 2 litre sludger and its only going to a local fella with a good rep .
Might take a couple of before and after pics for my own posterity tho.

Hope you get the results your looking for.

BTW I'd have a 'd sport' if I was still travelling to work everyday believe me. With the cost of fuel the Alpina is a luxury / short-term project and will sadly have to make way at some stage this Summer. The new owner needs to be a bit wealthier than me with a large garage to store her in till the sun comes out - I'm not in a position to start my car collection just yet
