I have just put a set of CCFL Angel Eyes into my wifes 2000 318i se, and I think they look great.

The only problem is that the headlight bulbs now look yellow in comparison

Anyone have any suggestions on which bulbs i could get that give out as near a white as the Angel eyes ?

    Thanks

to match the CCFLs you do really need HIDs..

if you don't fancy HIDs then try something like Phillips X-treme power headlight bulbs, i've got them on my car and they are significantly brighter and whiter than standard bulbs.. (although not HID white!!)

    Thanks for the replies.

I will look into both HIDS and the X-treme power and weigh them up.

Am I right in thinking that The HIDS need to come with ballasts to make them work correctly, as in not blind other people on the road ?

you'd have to buy a HID kit, ideally a CANBUS error free one so you don't get any bulb errors on the dash, probably looking at about £60 for a decent kit which is the bulbs, bulb holders and ballasts..

5000k bulbs are normally the whitest, above that and they start to have a blue tint..

this is the type of thing you would want:

Have to agree with the HID recommendations, before i had mine i spent loads on trying to find white bulbs, there's nothing to compare with how white the HID's look
I've got Xtremes in the high beams and they look like custard compared with dipped.

HIDS4U do a BMW specific kit, more expensive than ebay but its a quality kit and basically plug and play
