    hey all,

so as you can tell by the title, this is all about my 316i se and its future.

so the problem im having is ...

i have already bought run and repaired a bmw 316i se saloon and have fitted an m sport interior and other bits and peices such as a sub to it and looked after it well and now im looking to go further with it, but

alot of teh parts look nicer on a coupe and i have found a very nice bmw coupe 318ci with black interior and it looks swish and would be a much better base for my mods :P

so my question is do i keep a saloon and mod it or do i sell/PX my 316 and go for an upgrade to the 318ci coupe?

the only reason i didnt get a coupe when i got my 316 was insurance :P

    thanks all

Depending on what they will px money wise for yours I would do it, I mean iv got a 323i saloon but also have a 5yr old girl so it is ideal . But if I was to change I'd go 330coupe next time

Coupes do look that bit nicer in my opinion. Although in the e46 i dont think the gap lookwise from saloon and coupe is that big, compared to the e90 vs e92.

But coupes are cooler, and wont it have a bit more power too, being 118 bhp or 141 bhp depending pre facelift or facelift compared to your current 104 bhp?

If you can afford the car and extra running costs, insurance etc. I would go for it.

Then again, you know your car now and know it runs well, could you be gewtting rid of a good car and replacing it with a car that might have some issues?

I probably didnt help much. Coupes are cooler though, and im not bias, i drive a saloon!

i prefer the saloon but agree the coupe looks better. am just after practicality cos of the kids.
ive got the same car as you and was thinking of spraying all the black plastic parts to give it a "smooth" effect.
could make you change your mind if you do that?
