    Hi

After browsing the detailing guide on here I thought I'd treat my Cab to a 5 hour cleaning session today. I had a play with some clay to smooth things off too which I've never actually used. It was suprising to see how much crap was on the paintwork!!

The only downside is that I now know that I need to do something about all the bloody stone chips / tiny scracthes around the car - especially as it's black.

Someone is borrowing my digital camera so I had to take some pics with my iPhone which has a rubbish camera - it gives an idea how nice it looks now though! Here goes....

    To Do List
    Ceramic protection - Done
    Steering Wheel retrim

Replace SMG gear knob and bezel

    Suspension repaint / refurb
    New mats
    Interior plastics
    RTAB's - Done
    Cup holder install - Done

    Pedal refurb - Done

    Cheers matey.

To clay was a couple of hours as it was all new to me. I clayed the bonnet first, then waxed it and looked how it was. Then went round the rest of the car and got better at it as I moved round. By the end I could have done it in a quarter of the time at the rate I was going!

Rest of the time was spent waxing and doing the wheels. I got bored with the wheels and only treated one to wax and sealing. It will be good to compare to the others in a weeks time.

That looks very nice mate - what clay kit did you use? I need to do mine as the paintwor feels a wee bit rough now, even after waxing.

    Cheers

    Cheers.

I just got the meguirs one from Halfrauds - seemed to do the job OK - as long as you keep things well lubricated. H are doing 3 for 2 on cleaning stuff atm too.

Just gets the nasty stuff off the paint and smoothes it over so it's better to wax - think of a clean window instead of one with spots on....
