Hi, bought some clear lights for my 1999 saloon as a replacement for the nasty orange ones only to find the clear ones dont fit !! They are OEM parts and came from a 4dr e46 (had them from a BMW breakers). Basically, the lens fits into the bodywork fine, but the rear closing cover (which holds the bulbs) wont clip back on, and seems to be "rocking" on a bit of plastic on the back of the light, although I cant actually see which bit to see if I can just snap it off to make it fit.
I have since learnt that perhaps the e46 saloon rear lights went through a design change (in addition to the obvious 2001 revisions). Can anyone shed any more light on this ?
I do want to fit the rear clear lights (and maybe LED's as I can get some aftermarket ones from ebay) but even tho they say they will fit it just says fit dates of 1998-2001 when as I say it seems there was a minor revision inbetween..anyone got any answers for this one ? cheers
