    Ello again,

So any thoughts on what my options are for this now....

I have had a look at some Celis LED rear lights and discovered the indicater LED is amber - apparently you can't get the chrome type ones you can for normal lights to remove the yolk affect....

So im after a set of lights which have the same apperance as the Celis (red & clear) but aren't LED and of good quality so they don't leak etc.....

i didnt know the facelift lights were led, so my 2002 e39 rear lights have led bulbs.
just been out to check and yes they are led. COOL, never knew that

Just had a brain wave here....

Can i fit the Hella Celis light unit but just contine to use the older rear plate with "normal" bulbs instead of wiring in the ballasts to use LED's ?

i dont think so mate, when i looked at mine there were no bulb holders and where the bulbs would shine through the lens its blanked off,
but if you got a used celis unit you could try cutting it open and retro fitting bulbs?

    Hi

So how are the LED's attached on the Cellis then ? There must be holes for the access panel otherwise how do you change them ?

the led's are in the side of the light unit, and the light travels along a fibreoptic light guide, and led's last 100,000 hours so you never have to change them.
    there a sealed unit.
