I knocked mine off changing T-shirts once. Was pleasantly surprised that the mirror actually suffered no structural damage. Go BMW!

Anyway, I re-attached it with superglue, but didn't realise that a thick rubber washer had come away too, as I didn't find it til later, on the floor of the car.

I knocked the mirror gently off again, bumping it as near to the windscreen as possible to minimise risk of damage, replaced the rubber washer, re-attached it with superglue and it hasn't budged since. You shouldn't have any problems.

    Want a laugh.

I phoned BMW to ask if they had fitting kits or something.

Lad told me i'd need a new windscreen fitted with a NEW mirror already bonded on

I put the phone down laughing my arse off.
