    Hello,

im assuming the colour of my car is titanium silver? but i want to make sure if this is the correct colour. I have recently purchased some M3 mirrors and wanted to respray them. I looked through my handbook but couldnt find the exact colour code of my car. Is there anywhere else i can look to find out the colour? In the engine bay??

I once bought some touch up paint from BMW garage (titanium silver) and it was darker then the silver paint work on my car

    thanks

    Prep -
Evenly sand all over with 1200 wet & dry with plenty of water, keep it wet!
Dry with a clean cloth/towel, inspect the "even-ness"
If you can feel imperfections, you'll see them when painted.
    Repeat above process in required.

    Paint -
Several decent, but light coats of paint, 5 mins apart, in a wind & dust free environment, the warmer the better.

    Lacquer -
Very lightly wet & dry sand the painted surface as above to "key" the surface. Make sure the paint is even all over, apply lacquer as you did the paint.

    Finish -
Very lightly wet & dry sand the surface again to flat back & remove overspray & use a good compound polish to bring the shine out.

You must also paint with your mirrors as they would be on the car.
The metal in the paint will lie at an angle to gravity, and can reflect the sun different if upside down!

Ok, when you paint with metallic paint, there is small flakes of metal inside. This will sit at an angle when it dries.
If you paint from the wrong direction, the flakes will be at the wrong angle and reflect light different.
The orientation of the flakes is often the problem with matching colors, especially silver.

Wouldn't be a problem, with metalics always give a light mist coat in the end to evenly distribute the flakes

Do not rub down but just lacquer on top from far around 35cm for first two coats let them dry 10mins and third coat go closer 20cm and heavy and that'll leave you your finish
