Got a question. Is there a way to take apart the headlight switch cuz i want to get rid of the orange and turn them blue but not sure if it can be done without breaking it.

Just a quick update on my car. Iv just installed some blue footwell neons that come on when i open the doors, I think my heater is finally working properly still dunno why it was playing up but least its working now and iv also got my spoiler brake light working again. aint been working since iv had the car. Things still left to do are find out why my rear interor lights have stopped working think theres a loose connection somewhere just need to find it and remove the dried on glue from the carbon fibre sticker i tried putting in my car which went wrong lol. I will be adding pics up of the footwell neons soon.

Hi, it depends what year your car is. The early model's headlight switch comes with an ORANGE plastic diffuser/light carrier, and the 2 foglight symbols are silk screened on. NOT removable. If you have a later car, the light carrier is transparent, with the 2 foglight symbols being removable STICKERS.

The headlight switch itself is VERY easy to take apart. I'll do a foto step by step for you when I get a chance ok.

I myself have put 1 x blue LED per foglight symbol, 1 per headlight position symbol, and also taken out the orange diffuser for the headlight rotary know and ground out a new clear piece of perspex, with 1 blue LED inside that also. So total of 6 LED's, and also 6 resistors inline, 1 for each LED. Looks messy behind, but once all done, it is all hidden away anyway.

For my gauges, I bought a used speedo cluster for a 6 cylinder car, and all 4 gauges, fuel, speedo, tacho, and temp are being removed and changed out for these...

Ok,good, well,if I were you, I'd get a spare headlight switch with vent/surround to be safe. Are you going to paint your bulb or use indiviual LED's like me? There is only 1 single bulb which illuminates the rotary knob slit, and all the symbols. I did try use a single LED in it's place, but because LED's have more of a direct light whereas a bulb has a dispersed light, the LED was no good.

You will notice too, in your 1st set of pics, your gauges have dark and light patches. This is due to the LED's not giving out sufficient light around themselves like a bulb does. Try using neon/EL string. or you could just paint your bulbs blue.
