    Hi

I've seen these and am tempted to buy...

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

...anybody had any experience with the Depo units? Good/bad? Seller says they are UK legal and require no mods to fit so they seem ideal.

Also, this is my first BMW so am not sure...how would the angel eyes work? Presumably they would come on when I switch the dipped beams on?

Will be grateful if anyone can let me know what they think...

    Cheers
    Tony

I had a look at these units when i was thinking the same thing, i then enquired about a few things, i believe the CCFL rings ( Angel rings ) come on when the sidelights are engaged.

However, there are places where you can buy the CCFL rings, and along with a boosh projector headlight from a E36 coupe or saloon, you can easily fit the rings And/Or HID's if you wanted that option too, and that comes to around £100.

Thanks Tobe, I was wondering about how they worked. I think for the small amount extra, which is not a problem anyway, it's worth getting the complete units that look like a straight swap.

    Anyone agree/disagree?

i disagree personally... i thought about those "All in one" units, but they dont suit the car in my view... so i went with with the CCFL angel eyes and the bosch projector headunits and HIDs.

All stands me in at around £80 and looks more like they should be on the car and not bought off ebay.

Your car is you car fella... as long as you like it... it doesnt matter what we think... the above is only what i did with my car

i have fk depo units on my E46 and am very pleased with them.
the angels in my lights are lit by led's and not ccfl...dunno if these have been updated(might be worth asking the seller)
good price for what you are getting

Many thanks for your thoughts guys, all valid input

As the indicators are separate like the originals, my plan was to fit just the main light units and return the original indicators. That way it shouldn't make too much difference to the look of the car and also I won't have to replace the rear units to match.

I've asked seller if this can be done and also about the LED/CCFL question, although I don't mind either way. Am waiting for a response from the seller...

Anyone else got any opinions on it...

I've got to say... I considered them too. The beauty of those particular units is that the smoked indicators can be removed and you can then keep your standard clear indicators.

There's a white euro 325 knocking about on the projects forum with them -I think they look good.

    I'll try find the link

Thanks again guys. I've heard back from the seller who informs me the specific units I was looking at won't fit the compact. Also, the ones that do will need re-wiring, as the compact has a different loom. Might be the CCFLs after all
