I've just purchased some CCFL 6000k angel eyes which I'm planning on fitting this weekend...

My question is, what are the pros and cons of delensing?? By way of looks and fitting?

    Pic's would be appreaciated.

    Cheers,
    Andy

I had my new rings fitted on Tuesday, unfortunately, one of the rings was blown. You'll see what I did about that in a post here. So, before you take your headlights out, plug up the kit and check all your rings are working first. You don't want to take your lights apart, stick in the rings, and find one or more of the rings don't work.

You will be without the car for a few hours so don't plan on going anywhere. Get a big cardboard box, wooden board or park in front of a wall/garage door and mark around where your headlight's aim is. You'll need that so you can set your aim up in the right position when done. You may get some misting up of the headlight glass inside after you've done everything, which I have. Again. I sealed mine up properly this time with silicone sealant too.

Got a soldering iron too? You'll need one to connect the 2 wires to the sidelight wires on the car.

    Thanks for the advise.

I have a pretty old skool soldering iron, I wasn't planning on using this though and was hoping to get away with connecter blocks?

Measuring where your headlight aim is worth doing before hand, as otherwise you'll have to spend a tenner getting it done at a garage afterwards, although I know that's not much!

The process took me about 2 hours when I did mine, have a look in my guide in the link below my photo in my sig to see how mine fitted.

You may have already seen it, but this post by viran shows his de-lensed, looks really good - http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...ost207647.html

I'm in Ipswich as well mate as you know, so if you want to check mine out at all or whatever it's no problem, may even be able to give you a hand installing yours. Would like to see them de-lensed in the flesh anyway!
