The repair is the easy part. Blending metallics is the nightmare.

If it is a bubble working from the inside out you have little chance of a permanent repair without drilling it through and leading.

If surface rust, clean it off and treat yourself with some good stuff like the POR stuff. You will do a better job than someone driven by profit margins, then get it sprayed.

I did mine and went well till the paint and laquer balls up(minus six didn't help weather)using krust and plenty of Smoothing down to a smooth surface, good undercoat and then lightly spraying.

Would I do it again not in a million years and best leave it to the professionals especially on a really nice vert like yours.

    God I want mine resprayed

Do not attemp this by yourself unless you know what you are doing mate, as to get a colour match you will have to piant the hole panel, take it to a good body shop and get them to do it, i would say £200 should cover the cost mate

Sightly iffy paint is better than rust that's only going to get worse. That's my opinion anyway. Saying that I've had everything in my shed to sort my rear arches for a quite a while now. If the paint goes tits up then I'll get it sorted when I can afford it at least it won't continue to rust. I say go for it Bill!

I agree, depending on your situation.. if you can get the repair sorted and then afford £200 +/- to get the painting done 'properly', go for it.. Otherwise, do the repair, get some kind of covering on there for protection and wait till you can afford it...

    just my two-pence worth :-)
