Hi all, Iv been doing some repair work on the car, i needed to replace the front nose cone and drivers side wing, so i bought some replacements and sent them to someone to paint. Iv now got the parts on and the paint is no where near a match and iv jst spent two days taking the front end off and rebuilding it. Is the guy obligated to repaint the parts or can he just turn round and say tough

    Help

    Hi Aldo...

when you dropped the parts off at the painters... are you 100% sure you gave him the correct paint codes, as per your vehicle/chassis number??

Even if he painted it to the paint codes, it might still be different due to fading etc.
Best bet would have been to take the car -if possible- to him so he could match it up to that.

take the car down to him with the new parts on now... and complain matey... if anything the new parts should be whiter than the original paint!

If he says tough... say you will report him to trading standards..

I went to see the guy today and he says that it is usaully really hard to get white to match so iv to leave it for a week or two to see if it 'fades in' and if im still not happy he'll do it again for me so im happy with that for now. Its just the hassle of getting more time off work to take the car apart and put it back together again
