    basically i followed ur guide mate but bcoz the ballast is goosed it wouldnt light up so i assumed either i did it wrong or the bulb was goosed altho tried other side was fine!!

    e-mailed asking for replacement to be shipped but they want me to send dud back but i am not paying for shipping there and back

    is there anywhere on the net you can buy replacement bulbs and ballast??

    i assume most hid kits if they are 6k then they will be universal???

    i am trying to get replacement ballasts but they keep sending me links for 8k units mines is 6k, will these blow the bulbs??

    i send an e-mail asking why there's no link for 6k ballast's as i dnt want to order 8k's with a note sayin i actually want 6k's and they said 8k!!!

    I don't think it will make any difference mate, the bulbs may be a different colour temp but they will be the same watt so shouldn't be a problem

    Hay, just for peoples future referance, generaly its the older ballast box's (the dirty great big things) that casue the bulb failure warning,

    Most of the new digital ballast box's (the small thin one's) tend to be fine,

    We have fitted quite a few of the digital ones to things like porsche 911's a mini cooper d and a few other things like focus rs etc and i have a set on my e36 with the 18obc and its fine,

    6k and 8k are the colour of the light output and is governed by the metallic salts inside the bulb...most hid ballasts output around 35w.
