    hi all

    on my coupe i have noticed that the paint is starting to peel and i have also noticed the same on other coupe's arount the same age .

    is this a problem that these car have around this age? is it somthing that bmw could sort maybe? (i could be pi@@ing in the wind with this)

    BMW won't sort it unless you've had that corrosion check at every service until now so no hope really getting anything done unless you pay for it yourself.

    Mines a November '96 cab and the paint is still perfect. Where it peeling on yours? and what do you use to wash/polish it with?

    its the bonnet and grill that are mainly affected the bumper i think is more down to stone chips i use autoglym bodywork shampoo and conditioner and then i use super resin polish after

    Probably the stone chips letting the water get under the lacquer? Can you put a pic up?

    here is a pic mate you can just make it out around the grill and the bonnet will get a better one today

    Thats definatley water getting under the stonechips and lifting the lacquer.

    Yeah afraid so mate, only worth doing if your keeping the car for quite a while as its not a cheap job.

    you got a rought idea on what it will cost? im in to minds about it as my aim was to mint it up and come along to a few shows with her , so i think i will get it done in a few weeks or so. would it be cheaper if a preped it myself?
