Is it possible that door mirrors removed from an e36 saloon/touring will fit onto a coupe?

If not, is the housing or any parts interchangeable?

^ Both backing plates are cracked, and the housing itself is knackered passenger side.

Just saw a set of complete Boston Green mirrors on ebay for a fiver and thought about about having a punt... but they were from a saloon

Might just have to go for M3 mirrors instead

Thats typical. TBH standard E36 Mirrors are 2 a penny, and you wont have to pay a lot. M3 mirrors look cool, but fetch a lot of money for the genuine ones...

    New mirrors arrived today

Got them out the box, pretty good condition for an ebay purchase. Then I noticed a couple of little spiders crawling around the passenger mirror... next minute there was bloody hundreds of them Not impressed. Flushed it out with some water... still bloody loads of them! So decided to stick it in a plastic bag in the freezer for a few hours and that did the trick

So, took the old mirrors off:

Then gave the new one's a good clean and a polish, and put them on:
