    hi all,

i havnt used this forum for a few years as i been away from bmw's for a while but iv just got myself another a nice 325i coupe.....
    anyway........
iv had 3 e36's before and none of them had this interior trim that runs along the top of all 4 doorcards and a small strip on the dash by the glovebox??

what is this called as mine is chipped up and spoils my interior so id like to either replace it all or remove it completely.

can i remove it all without damaging the doorcards etc??

or where can i buy new trims and what is it called??

    thanks,
    dan

its thin wood-look strips that run along the top all 4 doorcards and they have ac schnitzer written on them???

theres also a small rectangle one above the glovebox.....

i cant think of another way to describe them.....

they arnt very pretty and id like to take them off but looks like they may be glued on...... maybe....

hi m8 tbh this is the first time i heard of them you could try heating them up with a hot air gun or hair dryer but that may damage your cards, what about recovering them with somethink like that 3m viynl stuff like the carbon fibre or somethink like that

These Schnitzer strips originally came with lovely 3M tape on the back, so peeling them off should be easy enough. (Well mine did anyways )
I used to have them and I just pulled them off, they were a little tough (especially if you don't want to snap/break the strips) but they finally came off and didn't ruin the door cards at all.

    Hope that helps

cheers for the replies guys, seems i should be ok to pull the strips off then, im not bothered about breaking them as they are chipped and crappy anyway.
