    Im having trouble getting this peice pictured below to come off the gear lever. There are no screws or anything I can see holding it in place. How does it come off? There is some play on it so its not fused on. The Mtech gear knob doesnt fit on this.

    Can you not get the gear gaitor off so you have a better view of the knob you are trying to pull.....

    Looks like you have been trying to twist it.......are you sure it doesnt come apart underneath the gaitor.

    Ill try remove the gear gaitor, any idea how that comes off?

    Might be worth a look on you tube. I am no expert but it looks like you need to lever from under the silver ring bit between the gaiter and ring. Don't break it on my account but thats what I would do.

    there is websites you could go to if you want to pull your knob they will help you take the head off it the proper way, sorry mate but i couldnt resist

    cant hacksaw it cos there will be nothing for the new knob to fit on, ill check again tomorrow and take a few more pics

    The gearknob will sit on the end of the stalk. You want to get rid of that collar?
