I've just upgraded my headlight bulbs to HID and the yellow/amber sidelight bulbs in the halo's dont go with it at all.

I've tryed the 4 LED type light but its not bright enough compared to the normal bulbs.

What does everyone else use for clear/white sidelights in their halo's

I think ive got the CCFL headlights fitted (takes two sidelight bulbs to light up one ring)

This would probably be best off in the E36 section or Bodywork & Styling Forum - either way if you could a couple of photos close-up of your headlights it will help

What sidelight bulbs in CCFL . No need to use sidelight bulbs because hopefully the sidelight circuit has been connected to the inverters of the CCFLs. Is that right?

Your right Neal i've just checked up and there not CCFL because they don't run off a invertor and arent tubes.

I'll get some pics up tomorow of the lights.

Heres the pics, does anyone know what these type of lights are called? and what would be the best bulb/led to use in them.

They look like after market headlamp units to me.

Hmm Do you think I should fit CCFL rings to them? I really like these ones though that are already fitted because its a complete ring unlike the CCFL ones.

Could you recomend me some brighter 501's to use? I've tryed LED's but they cause 2 bright spots in the ring at each side and make it look cheap!

Philips Blue Vision 501 bulbs are good too if you didnt want LEDs, they are pretty bright and light up white rather than yellow.

I just have standard lights, i prefered the LED, not that bright but i tend to drive with dips on the whole time anyway [level them down in daytime-poorman's DRLs!]
but the LEDs brought up a bulb out warning so i got the Philips ones.
