    Good Evening/Morning

After seeing a few other members saying you can repaint your parcel shelf i was just wondering how hard is the removal and how does it come off because im looking at doing it in the afternoon.

i know other members have said you can use halfords satin black spray but how many coats do you put on there?

if somebody can help out it would be a massive help

    Cheers in advance

    Dan

Its quite easy to take off Its a bit more difficult clipping it back into place though and it'll take a few coats of satin black. You'll have to spray it till you get the desired effect

If you have rear headrests you have to pull them out. Then remove the upright of the rear seat. Then you will find 6 clips that hold the shelf into place behind the rear seat upright. Gently rremove those. The shelf will then kind oof slide out. Just remove it from the seatbelts then the shelf is out. Like Stk said, its a bit more difficult to get it back in, but take your time and it will be fine...

I have finished spraying my parcel shelf today, i have some before and after pics for you all to see.

Before the spray the shelf was a lovely purple colour

Now after the spray took place its now a nice black and looks new again.. not bad for 2 hours work (most of that was waiting for the paint smell to go so it didnt stink my car out

Thankyou Steve and Stk for your help

Phone pics dont really do it justice but it does look alot better now lol

is that rear shelf fabric?? - I've just done a black leather swap into my Compact and the parcel shelf looks BLUE next to it so I need to get it sorted and wondered what the best options were as it's the stock fabric shelf..
