I have some 17" alutec schnitzer split rim reps that im going to paint. I dont even know if they do even split. Theres bolts going all the way round like the ac schnitzer type 1 racing wheels and im wondering whether its ok to remove them to paint the wheels???

Do you have any pictures of the rim? I should think it would be. If it was me I'd take the bolts out and find out

I haven't heard of that model of alloy before but if you undo the bolts and hit the centre at 9-3 and 12-6 position the centre should come out.

You might need new bolts if they're stretch type. I'm thinking of doing mine but weighing up the costs if they are stretch bolts..
