    hey guys,

Just wondering how to reduce the amount of road noise I'm getting. I have 18"s on with 40 profile tires and its lowered. I know this will be making the noise worse but is there way I could reduce this? I was thinking of using sound deadning but I would need lots of it I think. Not sure what to do. Does any1 have any hints or tips they could give me?

    Cheers in advance

    Alan

What brand of tyre do you suggest mate? What brand of tyre does anyone else have that copes well with road noise.
I have Achillies ATR Sport 225/40 ZR 18 92W XL on mine, they came with the wheels as a package. They still have about 5 thousand miles left on them but as the are coming to the end of there life is this part of the noise? Done a wee bit of searching, they seam to be getting a half decent right up.

theres already tons of sound deadening in the cabin area have ya seen how thick the sponge is behind the carpet so not sure you would gain much have seen a spray on sound deadener might be a bit easier to use

LOL yeah dazza the carpet is crazy thick lol. I hate the feeling of it. Gives me the heebie jeebis.
I was thinking like applying some deadning to the firewall behind the dash and some under the carpet in the footwell and above the gearbox. Just generally the whole floor. Its probably more hassle than its worth but is it not worth a shot?? Can you remember the name of the spray on deadner? What types is there out ther? Ive haerd of a company called Dynamat but the seem really expensive. I have just seen Black stuff with a HoneyComb print on one side and a yellow peal off film on the other.
First port of call will be new Tyres I think then take it from ther but I just want to be prepared.
