    Thread dredge.
I have just bought an e46 that someone has modified to play MP3 as there is a 3.5mm plug hanging out from under the console, but the changer doesn't work although it whirs as if it is working. Lifting the centre console revealed why.
There was 10" of cut off cable left in there.

I'm all for modding, but this is just vandalism.

this worked gret on my business mini disc manged to get it to recognise the aux but it was quiet so i slecetd the aux input volume from the settings, i also went a step further. i hacked apart my nokia bh 505 bluetooth headset and removed the ear pice speakers. then i connected the wires to a female 3.5mm jack. now i can plug my diy cable in to this jack and i have bluetooth connectivity and music is very clear. only thing to do now is figure out how to make it look pretty
