I couldn't find my car/engine combo in INPA. So here is how to add the M47D 136bhp 320d to INPA (I also found DDE 2.2 M51 E46... However this untested as I do not have this car). But it will be in german, however the F-keys are the same as any other module (Better than nothing IMO). The fault codes and explanations will be in English if you installed INPA in English.

    1) Download the attachment.

1a) Rename the attachment from E46.BIN to E46.ENG

    2) Go to: C:\EC-APPS\INPA\CFGDAT or wherever you installed INPA and find the CFGDAT folder.

    3) Find and rename the file E46.ENG to E46.BAK (Preserving your original file if you don't trust mine )

    4) Now copy my attachment (from wherever you downloaded it to) to that same folder.

Voila... You have 2 new DDEs to play with... The only one I paid attention to was the one for my car. The other that will be on the list is for DDE2.2 M51 E46.

Beautiful car... But everytime I look into your beautiful eyes I feel the contempt that you have for my bank account.

    Thanks,

worth mentioning that the E46 never got the M51 engine. The E36 2.5TDS has the M51. Maybe BMW planned to put the 2.5 oil burner in the E46 but changed their minds?

    Who knows.

    Nice one!

Btw, I don't think the M51 was ever fitted to the e46 was it? According to this http://www.bmwheaven.com/database/en...p?type=M51#/83 ,I'm right.

Indeed As I mentioned in my post above yours... must be the moderator approval thing.

I wonder what happened with the M51 2.5TDS... They must looked at the CO2/Km and thought that the company car buyers wouldn't bother with it as it would have been in a higher company tac band.

Either that or the performance vs fuel economy figures were too close to the 320d so they didn't bother.

Beautiful car... But everytime I look into your beautiful eyes I feel the contempt that you have for my bank account.

I downloaded the attachment but I doesn't work when I rename it and place it in the CFGDAT folder.
INPA say It doesn't find E46.ENG

    Can you help me?

Sorry for my English, I'm French

Very very useful, I didn't know why we couldn't enter the DDE 3.0 of the BMW 320d E46 of a friend. Now we know. Thank you!
