What warranty do you guys recommend as mine will be over in June but have got a scary feeling the engine coil and injectors issue will never be over.

Dont want to go with extended BMW warranty anymore as it's very expensive now.

The end of resetting i have got service light turned to orange colour also when i switched off the and taking the key out i have noticed the Vehicle check light comes on in red then its disappears ?

Is this normal or have i done something wrong?

I have one concern that I don't see much information about.

Now with you being able to purchase a ODB II code reader or diagnostic software pretty cheaply say under £20.

Which gives anyone the ability to read, erase and reset fault codes and service intervals.

Should we not all be a little suspicious of sellers deleting fault codes and resetting service lights to make there vehicles seem more saleable!!!!!

Just a thought as this could be happening, and could make a car that seem to have no lights and all green indicators potentially be a wolf in sheeps clothing...

    Dear All,

I have a 2009 325Ci (n53) and took it for an oil service today at a non BMW garage that always gave me great service on my BMWs. The CBS told me it needed an oil change at 61k miles hence my visit.

When I checked the CBS on the dash after the service, it said the front pads will need servicing in 60k miles and the rear in 50k miles. I know they were getting low and the CBS said at around 2k miles when I checked yesterday and haven’t been changed in the last 30k miles. It also says the next vehicle check is in Aug 2017 (or 37k miles) and oil charge in Aug 2015 (or 24k miles).

I am concerned that the garage has reset the CBS and I will be driving around with a car that needs servicing - is this possible and will the car automatically let me know if a filter, pads, spark plugs ... needs servicing etc.

The last vehicle check was in May 2012 (24k miles ago).

Thanks a lot for your help and advice.

    Chris

Just joined this forum and realise this thread is a bit old so I hope somebody is keeping an eye open.

I just did an oil service on my 2005 120d but it was 800 miles overdue and I can't reset the CBS service indicator. I've followed the instructions at the beginning of this thread but the display doesn't seem to make sense and I can't get the oil to show, only brake fluid and pads. Is there a way round this?

Excuse me if my previous message is in the pipeline - I posted 2 days ago but nothing has appeared.

I'm trying to reset the CBS indicator after an oil change. I can only get the icons for brake fluid and rear pads to show. I went overdue by 800 miles on the oil so could this be the problem and if so what do i do?

    It's a 2005 120d.
