Saw this on you tube and believe it to be the best how to on brakes i've seen, so instead of doing 1 with photos i thought if the mods believe its ok then i would post it here! YouTube - BMW 325i Front and Rear Brakes and Rotors e46
I tried to change my rotors all round yesterday and came upon some real problems when it came to the rears.
Everything went fine until I tried to take the actual discs off, even after bashing with a rubber mallet I couldn't get them off. I hit the passenger side from the back and got some movement but it seems to be caught from the inside.
If I pull one side at a time it moves 1cm ish out but both sides will not pull at once. I've tried plenty of hammering and prying with no result.
It seemed to me the handbrake shoes were stuck on the inside of the disc, wven though the disc was still spinning :confused, so I loosened the handbrake in the cockpit and even then it still seemed caught.
In the end I put both rear brakes back together with the old pads.
Has this ever happened to anyone before or does anyone know what I can do?
Help please!!
