Scrappy1,co op do cover you to drive other cars
Hi mate checked out the co-op and was told driving other cars is only on a emergency basis like if you are in a car with some one and they take bad you can drive then but not just get in to another car and drive on your own or like that. Was also told that insurance company's seem to be doing away with that part of their policy stupid I think so anyway if you any different than this please let me know thanks in advance.

Ps sent you pm in case you don't get this sorry if you see both ha ha ha

So I got told to day that I should try getting classic insurance for my 1997 (R) e36, because my mate said he had an 1997 (R) MG convertible and was paying next to nothing because it was classed as a classic,
    Does anybody have a clue?

How old are you mate? Most classic insurers won't insure you if you are under 25, also your mileage will be limited from what I can gather, don't quote me on that though

Depending on where you live, who you are and the car you're insuring, there's only ever a limited amount you can do, but as a young person (I make it sound like a condition) myself I would echo the tips of others:

    1. Add at least two older (40+), safe, drivers on the policy. Regardless of whether they're driving.
    2. Use all three comparison sites (confused, money supermarket, compare the market) and any others you fancy. Also remember some insurers, eg. direct line, don't appear on sites (never been cheaper for me though)
    3. Pay annually rather than monthly if you can, the fee for finance on insurance can be insane (like 100% sometimes)
    4. It may even be worth getting a quote for business insurance if you do use the car for business (rather than just commuting) - you may be surprised as sometimes this is cheaper.

Still, insurance is a bit random. For example, I can get insurance on a £50k ferrari cheaper than a £5k M3, like for like. Presumably because a lot of £5k M3s get bent by young men. I paid less for insurance on my 911 than my 330Ci, although the 330ci was insured for work and 20K a year.
