hi been looking round for insurance for my 97 323i e36 coupe its my second car and its only used in the summer at weekends if it dose 2000 miles a year i would be suprised.
the car is moddifed coilovers, m tech kit, induction kit , and exhaust, alloys
am 23 with 5years ncd and will be looking to insure the car some time in may by then i will be 24 with 6 years ncd i have a clean licence and all that.
the prices i have been geting have been around £750 but i think it could be a bit cheaper due to the limited use the car gets its sits the garage most of the year
also the man that owned the car before me had it under a classic thing and he only payed £200 for a year
if i got it around £600 i think i would be happy

yea thanks mate still waiting on sky to give me a call back. just may also add my main car i drive is a 2005 saab 9-3 vector sport 150 bhp tdi paid less than 700 to insure it last year.

is there any other insurers that do muticar besides admerial? as last time i got a price from them they just wanted to a** rape me plus would rather keep my current insurer for the saab as the 3rd party extention comes in quite handy on it for driving any one elses car . Its hard to find many insurers giveing that out now

I thought that was standard, if you have a current Insurance policy you're insured to drive any car not owned or rented to you, Third party cover only. It's been on every policy I've ever had. Who is going to let you drive their car with no cover, Third party only covers the other car, so in effect anybody's car you drive has no cover.

not as far as i know mate most insurace companys have done there hardest to do away with it for any younger drivers as you could drive an m3 evo owned by another member of your family no problem not so gud.
i was lucky enuf to get mine from the start and kept it alot of friends of mine have lost it when they changed insurance companys ect. so no driveing a freinds car home from the pub if they have had to much for them unless they want 6 points for no insurance.
i thnk it all comes down to the insureance company to give you it or not.

Most companies will give you the "driving other cars extension" as long as you are over 25 and had your licence for 5 or more years, this is due to experience! If In your household you have three or more cars try getting a family fleet policy through Chaucer. They are great value for money and unlike some other multi car policies you keep your own seperate NCD if you cancel the policy after X years.

    Hope that helps

I'm 21 with Co-op insurance (fully comp) and i can drive someone else's car, provided it's insured by them and gave me permission.

    Driven by experience and pleasure
