I'd wait until they eventually pass there car test then revenge can set its course however you see fit . I'd hate to turn 17 and have a car I've just been spanked to insure as its a first car then have a bottle of nitro morse poured all over it at night with no one to blame as years had gone by since the moped issue

The law abiding citizens that pay their way will always foot the bill..
And there's worse,a friend of mine told his insurance company that he'd had a non-fault accident and the other driver admitted responibility, considering the claim outweighed his xs he decided not to go through with it..lo and behold next time he renew they hit him for the claim....
    Good luck Terry54661....

Sorry to hear bout your troubles m8
I too have had something similar after my car was driven into by a stolen car uninsured . 2 grands worth of damage
Then I'm told if I want to repair I can have this done but will loose my NBC ?.
As you stated the police are not interested and once again it's the law obiding people that suffer.
Insurance companies have way to much power and pretty much depending on how the operator feels
At the time pulls prices out of a hat when quoting personally thing the driver is ripped off all the way through fuel , road tax and ins why not just combine all in when fuel is purchased

Thankfully, only a minority of insurer load for non-fault (settled) claims.

Yes, it's seems that some insurance companies are just there to take your money. I'm just thinking, could people not just take the culprits to court instead of going through insurance?

Now i was not at fault but because the police didnt charge anyone for the damage my insurance company have taken my NCB. So i have been ripped off and am paying for something that is not my fault at all and to make matter worse still I KNOW who the moped drivers are and one of them live 50 yards away from me. The police say there is no DNA evidence so they cant even approach the moped riders. The old bill a bunch of idiots.

So remember people if someone hits you with a stolen moped of car your screwed and will pay a heavy price.

Sorry to hear your story. Same thing happened to me and my misses. We were driving down the M4 when someone smacked in to the side of her Focus ST and drove off. They drove off as we were spinning off the motorway!! Unbelievable!!

Anyway, the useless cops didn't catch the person that did it and as a result my girlfriend had 9 years of no claims dropped to 3 years AND the crash was recorded by her insurance company as her fault and the car was torn to shreds. We are lucky we weren't killed tbh. Understandably, she's furious, but will unfortunately just have to put up with it :-/

unfortunately you made a claim on your insurance and your insurer paid out for the incident, therefore the non fault claim will increase your policy price. Even if the moped riders were prosecuted it is still a non fault claim. Even if you decided to fix a mirror on your car and don't use the insurance its still classed as a non fault claim as it is an indecent regardless of blame fault and if a claim is made. Tell as little as possible is key to be fair. I would advice protecting your NCB most insurers will include it free of charge.

In regards to swift cover mate... Any claim, if an insurance firm pays out is a fault claim but with the NCB swift cover will only take 5 years because that's their maximum amount. They will reduce buy 1 maybe 2 years for the claim. But if you had 8 years and it has been reduced by 2 you should have 6. Go to a company that offers high maximum NDB like 9+ you might be able to get it excepted or they might say you can only have what you can prove in that case swift cover are wan*ers
