    Hi All,

I'm a new member from Australia and I've just picked up a Z3 2.8 (M52 engine). Everything is stock and I was hoping for some idea's to increase the M52 performace without putting on a turbo or supercharger.

    Cheers!!!!!!

there are a few things you can do
first of all you can fit a inlet manifold from a M50 2.5 engine, this can give a gain of about 15-20bhp, and it will open the engine up after 4k rpm
match that with a exhaust, remap, big bore throttle body and a good air filter with heatshield (something like a davef if you can find one) you could potentially be sitting on around 220-230bhp maybe more, ive seen dyno readouts on other forums show people hitting 240bhp
you can fit the full exhaust system from a M3, the 3.2 would be the better choice as the lambda sensor bosses are in the right place some say that you wont get much power out of it others say up to 10bhp but there are plenty of offering around from the likes of scorpion etc
then if youre wanting to go further then you can replace the viscous coupling with an electric fan and fit an under drive kit, going down this route will start to get expensive
it depends how far you want to go
the most powerful N/A 328 (in the uk) was recorded at around 260bhp so it depends on how deep your pockets are really

exactly as disco has said! start with the manifold and the golf tee mod then a big bore throttle body (bbtb) moving on to a good save f air filter and heat shield (ebay used) then a m3 3.2 exhaust and if you can be bothered messing about at mot time a de-cat and finally to unleish the full potential of all these and improve everyday drivability a good remap by the likes of end tuning

the underdrive kit is lightweight pulleys for the auxillary belts, they replace the heavier pulleys to free up more power

    http://store.vacmotorsports.com/vac-...set-p1402.aspx

they arent cheap and to be honest i doubt the websites claim of a 10bhp and 8 lb/ft of torque gain
