Decent chips start at £300+ for these sort of cars off the top off my head.

£49 for a new, mapped ECU is too cheap, especially if its proven and reputable.

Whilst its acceptable that many people will offer discounts and deals, no ECU chips worth the money will be had for that price, so something instantly is telling me is a no no. Stay clear of it is my opinion.

I can't access Ebay at work but just to be different I'd say that some chips for £50 are ok! Sometimes they are a copy of someone elses work.

The Viper2 chips cost around that amount of money and are meant to be good.

However, it is a risky business putting an unknown chip into your car!

Try giving these guys a call/email http://www.evo-s.co.uk. They do a known chip at a reasonable price.

I read some where a little while ago when i first got my BMW and was looking into these cheap chips that it's basically a resistor inside this little plastic thing and it makes the car think its running hotter/colder (can't remember) and so it puts more fuel in the mix, basically there a 4op resistor all wrapped up. Piggy back chips im sure their called.
