    r32to330d and others,

sorry, but are your comments relating to the http://www.carperformancepartsuk.com...ning-Chip.html chip? i have reading testimonials on that site and was going to see advice here before buying. i have a 525d and need good mpg, currently 39mpg. i dont want to pay a fortune. appears there arent many affordable systems for diesels?

    thanks all.

further to be above, i had a remap done by http://www.kartechnic.co.uk/

just picked up the car and will see how things go. thus far, the responsiveness is great, the torque or bottom power as i call it is great. i cant figure out if my mpg has increased yet, but its guaranteed. he did the transmission and ecu software update, impressed by the technical knowledge these guys have, they went abroad to receive the training, bespoke.

i cant recommend them enough even though this was our first meeting. great guys

    On my E39 530d I would pay £500 for a 56bhp gain :P, a remap would cost £299 and thats just for a extra 25bhp

    Eh??

I dont understand what you mean here?

How the heck do you expect a 56hp gain?

There is not much more power that can be gained from a remap than from people like Motech etc

Safe, good hp increase and better driveability and economy.

Some remap companies publish complete BS figures on there website because sadly, a lot of people believe what they read without questioning it

It said that it with the tuning box i could expect a 56 bhp upgrade, im just saying if that was true I would pay that amount of money, and for remap £300 it's still good value for moeny wen you can get 225bhp out of it.

    desi,

i get you, my remap was done about two weeks ago. i used to do 415 on a fuel tank, but recently achieved 530 miles-never been happier. its crisp and response and gutsy

i dont know how much extra bhp i got, but its the biggest, best upgrade i ever had on a car, better than a service, mot etc, well worth it.

I have not picked up my 320d (177psi) yet but I have started to look into re mapping. I currently have a Golf GTi with a re map and the results were fantastic. More torque and between 30 to 50 bhp increase in bhp.

This was so for the only place I could find that re map the BMW, has anyone any other suggestions.
