Does anyone have experience of Superchips Bluefin for BMW 330d ? The principle seems ideal - handheld device that allows the owner to remap the ECU or reset to the manufacturer map at any point. It's not a piggy back tuning box, so those potential issues aren't an issue.

I saw an old post from Bootist advising to stay clear of Superchips - anyone know why ?

Not many re-mappers have cracked the latest BMW ECU encryption so far (I have the facelifted 3 series touring, 245bhp 330d) and I know that a Bluefin map is in development. Seems like an obvious choice, but comments / experience welcomed.

the bluefin is a box that lets you flash your own car.. thats about it really..

We can re-map all BMW's via the OBD2 port. Were are also running the offer for £280 all in too. But if you want your car putting the stock file back in then we need to do it sorry .

    Hope that helps a little

I had a bluefin on my fiesta zetec s. It reads what sort of driving you do from the data stored in the ecu (was told this by superchips) and chooses a suitable programme out of around 600. I did notice a difference in the way the car drove but i put mine on after i had piper cams fitted.

Don't know about the opposition, as the last car I had chipped was a 1991 205 GTI and required a man with a greasy rag and a soldering iron. Having recently moved from a BMW E60 3.0d to BMW E70 3.0d, I was attempting to bridge the significant gap in performance, and thanks to Bluefin, I think I have, or at least a lot of it.

Bluefin Claims are impressive, and it is hard to doubt them. The figures suggest 15% odd additional bhp. I just wish I had known about Bluefin when I had the 530.

I have even reset the ECU before a service, not that they could see anything either way, but a sharp mechanic would probably realise that all was not as it should be.

    BMW X5 E70
    2007 onwards
    Engine type : Turbo-Diesel
    Engine size : 2993 cm3
    Cylinders : 6
    Original bhp : 235
    Original nm : 520
    BHP increase : 35
    NM gain : 80
    Lb/Ft gain : 59

Awful experience, after calling Superchips.co.uk they had recommended that I get in contact with one of their top mappers, a guy called Tony Callow (Asian chap) at AUTO XTREME POWER LIMITED in Romford, they stated he is very good at what he does, and I shall be well looked after.
They recommend AUTO XTREME POWER LIMITED but after my experience I done some research and found out that had been dissolved in 2011!!
AUTO XTREME POWER LIMITED also is connected to Unichip Europe and Motorcodes.
After I received the number from Superchips I called Tony and he was very happy to explained that he is very well educated in this field and stated that hes done allot of work with BMW, Merc, Audi bla bla, and it would only take 2 or so hours for the remap.
After 9hrs over 3 days trying to complete my cars remap, my car was worse than when I bought it to AXP/Superchips and has left me with months and months of troubles trying to get it back to normal. This is the worse experience I have ever had in the car industry, not only does he talk up a big game but he is very arrogant, rude and absolutely clueless about how remaps really work. He stated that all the maps are sent from Superchips HQ (which superchips had confirmed) and it’s their fault. Now my car seems to have major ECU issues now.
Tony even made me pay for injector cleaner £25 for two bottles only to find out the it was poured from two old plastic containers which could of contained anything, what a rip off!!
He talks a big game and his garage seems to show a picture that this is a proper outfit, only to find out that the EVos in the garage are just there for storage and show.
All though I had a full refund I have lost allot of time and money as my car is still not working and even the HQ of my car company had no idea what AXP/Superchips have done and how to fix it. Even superchips said they can’t help even though they recommended him.
I had warned Superchips and Tony Callow AXP that reviews will lose your company money in the long run, and this is clearly not the first time someone had complained about this service from AXP/Superchips with my research.
You cannot go around threating people like this, and hope you will never have any come backs.
So what goes around comes around
xxx DO NOT USE THEM AND IF YOU DO GOOD LUCK TO YOU xxx
If it a bmw Ecu I can fix the car if your still having problems
