My first post and maybe a controversial one...
I have recently had my E46 320d remapped by a known reputable tuner. (I’m not saying ).
The car is now a pleasure to drive and I love the new power.
However I was a little shocked, even a little cheated to find out that the tuners don’t create the maps themselves,
they send the stock map off to someone with a note saying what I want from the map and then wait for this guy
to send them back a rewritten map.
So in fact these “tuners” are actually nothing more than “flashes” and all the credit should go to the guy writing
the maps. A bit like those companied that sell the Powergate type devices.
Is this normal for companies calling themselves “tuners” to do?
I thought I was paying for a guy to write and test the map in my car. I can’t help thinking that regardless of what
I told the tuning company I wanted from the map I would receive the same map anyway.
I know I paid for their “service” but it wasn’t the service I was expecting.
