What you gotto spend? Tuning mods can get expensive. You can fit more aggressive cams and porting and polishing will add HP. Having a remap will add a couple of HP and sort out flat spots for starters

The lads at evolve told me that I was not getting my bhp without having cams in, as the engine was brand new I told them it didn't and they would have it even tho its had the printout.i can't see anyone getting 400 out of it with out boosting it.i had a charger for mine but decided against it as the internals aren't up to we're as the s54 is more suited.

It's all down to money, first up is arp rod bolts as the bottoms are very weak mine has gone twice, then forging the internals it's big money on an old car. From what I've researched then in 12 months it'll go pop anyway that's why I sold my charger.
My new motto is if you want a fast car buy a fast car to much money lost in modding,I'll never sell my m3 but I've stopped chasing more power I've spent too much.

I did a similar thing. I used to have an MG ZR which I put a 2L turbo engine in, and got it to the point where there was no point getting more power out of it as it was FWD. So I wanted a RWD car and after trying a few, I settled on the 3 series. I bought a cheap 328 and loved it. I looked at doing some stuff to it, M50 manifold, Evo rear diff, remap etc. But for the money I'd spend doing that I could buy an M3 Evo. Which is what I did.

I always had the intention of supercharging it "one day". But now that I've got the Evo, it turns out there's not much you can do to get more power out of it. They seem to of done a pretty good job at the factory already!. You can get cams, a £3,000 CSL airbox, remap, de-cat etc but you might add on 30bhp or so. I'm just going to save my money and get the supercharger for around £5,000.
