Have seen these Diesel tuning boxes and they seem a little too good to be true when you can connect them so fast.

Has anyone tried on one or still using one? Any reputable dealers anyone can recommend?

    Cheers

Never ever get a tuning box! They are a 'standard' map which only change limitied variables.

Always always a customised remap every time ie the map is designed specifically for your configuration of engine, turbo etc etc to ensure a perfect match for relevant fueling, boost and all the other variables that are set.

afaik these boxes just put more fuel in (up the pressure at injectors iirc)
a remap adjusts other variables to maximise bang for your buck.
no doubt our forum vendors that offer remaps could explain in more detail
    what i've felt,what i've known
never shined through in what i've shown.

Just to add, there was a mention of a tuning box that ups the boost too, in a similar way, but in all of those cases, the ECU will be underestimating the fuel being injected (as it doesn't realise the higher pressure) so the onboard economy gauge will be out

So is an 'Evolve Switch' a proper remap or a tuning box?

They seem very popular and have just sold hundreds on E90 post / bimmerpost forum due to an offer price.
