Hi guys, I know it's not currently possible to remap via obd on new bmw's due to the encryption they now use but was just wondering if this will be the case for the foreseeable future? Are people working on this and are there any good prospects on the horizon?
If I was ever going to have a remap I wouldn't feel comfortable with the ecu being removed on a new warrantied car, something like a bluefin would be the perfect soution but it seems this security can't be bypassed :(
    Cheers

It will all come in time. It's a matter of our tool manufacturers getting hold of the cars to work with them and then perfect the protocols that they make. There is no given time period for this to happen though.
Things like bluefin and the alientech powergate (better option) are even longer down the line again generally

What model ECU's are you talking about? As far as I know there is a solution out in the market for every BMW ECU present right now, my friends have had their latest F-Series cars remapped and a friend with a brand new E92 M3 has as well. This was in Europe though...
